Be a dive leader and professional, become a Divemaster.
Just some of the subject areas covered in Laguna Sea Sports 30 hour (minimum) divemaster
course are Dive organization and briefing techniques, assisting with instruction, problem
recognition and resolution, how to conduct various types of dives, dive travel techniques,
rescue and emergency proceedures, Divemaster opportunities, legal aspects, small boating
and seamanship. As a Divemaster you will increase your personal diving proficiency, assist
with diving instruction and be recognized as a diving professional. Qualify for
instructor training and as a member of SDI. |

Overview |

- There will be four 3.5 hour classroom sessions (minimum).
- There will be one 2 hour pool (minimum).
- There are four open water day-long sessions (minimum).
- Each candidate will be required to to attend and assist on one entire Laguna
Sea Sports Scuba Diver program (minimum).
- Each candidate will be required to attend and assist on one entire
Laguna Sea Sports Advanced Class (minimum).

PreRequisites for entering the course |

- One year or more of diving experience since entry-level scuba certification, with a minimum
of 25 logged dives (not to include training dives) and no less than 20 hours of underwater time
within the preceeding two years.
- Advanced diver.
- Dive Rescue techniques, First Aid* and CPR*.
- DAN Oxigen provider*.
- Minimum age 18.
- Approved medical exam form signed by doctor.
- Provide all necessary personal equipment and transportation.
- Desire to organize and conduct diving activities!
* These courses may be offered in the Divemaster program
Course fee includes tuition, text and handouts and the Divemaster
registration fee. A $100.00 (non-refundable) deposit is required to reserve a place and order
required materials. Full payment is due by the second week of the course. Please note there
may be additional fees for charter boats etc. Registered Divemaster Students qualify for our
in store student purchase discount. |
